Cube Thought
Cube Thought (02/05/12): Headlines:
-
Update: With 48% of the Vote, Mitt
Romney Wins
the Nevada Caucus. The Win was Predictable, but it is the 2nd
"Decisive" Victory in a Week for Romney and Confirms his Spot as the
Republican Front Runner. The Focus is Now on Colorado and Minnesota
for their Tuesday, February 7 Caucus.
- In Two Weeks Romney Goes from Getting Thumped in South Carolina to
Doing the Thumping in Florida and Nevada. One Strong Debate Performance and
a Ton of Money in Ads and He is Right Back in the Front Spot.
- And, How Long Before We Hear Donald Trump Claim that His Endorsement
of Romney was the Key to the Nevada Victory?
- Like Romney in South Carolina, Gingrich Has Not Seemed to Help
His Cause in Florida and Nevada.
- With Two "Really Strange" Debate Performances
in Florida,
- A "Hint" of Desperation in the Air,
- And His Seemingly Scorched
Earth Strategy,
He Now Finds Himself Back Where He
Was at the End of December when the Bottom Fell Out.
- But, Newt has Been Here Before - Seems to Do Better When
Riding in the Draft - Has Seen How a Campaign Can Be Turned
Around Quickly - Seems to be Better as a Sprinter rather than a
Marathon Man - So, the Romney Campaign Should Not Get Cocky
and Think that Gingrich Can Not Come Back.
- As for Romney - a Solid Debate Performance and a Stronger Persona on
the Campaign Trail may have been Just What he
Needed to get a Primary Win in Florida and a Caucus Victory in Nevada. It may be that Hiring a New
Debate Coach (a former Michele Bachmann's aide) Has Really Paid Off.
Maybe it is like A Professional Golfer who needs a New Swing Coach to get
his A-Game Back?
- But, We are Certain His Debate Coach is Going to Work with Him on
Thinking Before He Speaks. "I Like to Fire People" and "I'm not
concerned about the very poor" make Great Ads for the Other Side. He
means Well - You have to Hear the Whole Speech - But these are Killers.
- Nevada Primary Finish:
1.) Mitt Romney
- 48%
2.) Newt Gingrich - 23%
3.) Ron Paul - 18%
4.) Rick Santorum
- 11%

CubeThink Comments
A Romney Short
and Effective. Most
Effervescent Speech we have Heard
from Romney. Did not Even Address
his Competitors and went Right
After Obama. Changed It Up and
Dropped the Previous "Canned"
Stump Speech. Got the Crowd Into
It and then Got Out at the Right
Time.
??? Gingrich
Not Sure How to Grade this One.
Not Sure if We Can Grade this One.
It was a "Press Conference" (We
Think), Not an Election Night
Speech. But, It Looked Like Another
Display of Newt Sounding Just Plain
Vindictive. He has Vowed to
Campaign All the Way to Tampa. At
Some Point it will be Asked, "Would
You Really Want this Guy in Charge
of Our Military?"
-----
Santorum No "Election Night" Speech.
----- Paul
No "Election Night" Speech.
